Another week of glorious weather with decent temperatures has seen us get through drilling the Serge in the Bicker, East Heckington and Kirton area and boy did it fly once drilled. Some incredible growth seen in just 5 days.3822 acres in, 76%. Still a bit of a way to go.Moisture is still readily available but with the temperatures forecast to rise and the wind speed increase we will need to mitigate its loss from the soil.A shock in the early Anubis and Boston. Flowers have come from nowhere. The crops are growing rapidly and we could start around the 20th June. Preparations in the yard have been advanced to make sure we are ready. The rapid growth is also beginning to show a bit of stress and we will be going through the crops with some nutrients to colour them up. The more chlorophyll in the plant, the more use it can make of sunlight. It will be interesting to see what these early crops look like in a week.
