Another nearly uninterrupted week, baring some welcome rain on Friday. It was almost a mirror of the previous week, starting into good damp seedbeds but with the easterly winds we continued to go deeper in search of moisture. The first batch of Oasis in Boston West and Holland Fen was completed and the first 100 acres of Naches drilled. That gives us just over 4000 acres in the ground. Finally getting close to the end!The early peas continue to bask in sunshine and enjoy the good growing conditions. The 100 acres of Boston appears to have overtaken the Anubis. Not an issue as long as we are aware of it. The Pod Squad will meet up in the middle of June for final preparations for a projected start date around the 20th of the month. This week has seen a number of us from the U.K. join our counterparts from around the globe and travel to Italy with Syngenta for discussions on their future development plans, look around their trial sites and a visit to Conserve Italia, the home of Cirio Tomatoes, amongst many other products. The final morning was a fantastic visit to Ferrari in Modena. An iconic Italian brand which they are rightly proud off. All the thrills of driving a F1 simulator and a race to change tyres were thoroughly enjoyed. A great trip, learnt a lot and had some fun as well. Now back to work!
