Farmers are nature’s custodians

And we wouldn't have it any other way!

Rooted in the Fens

We farm in the Lincolnshire Fens, a landscape that's been shaped by agriculture for centuries.

Looking after it isn't just something we feel obliged to do - it's something we genuinely care about. Here's how we put that into practice...

Our land

Giving nature some breathing room

Around every field we leave a six-metre-wide uncultivated margin - a buffer zone between our crops and the hedgerows, watercourses and neighbouring land beyond. These strips aren't just regulatory boxes to tick; they give wildlife somewhere to retreat when our machinery is at work, and help protect our crops from spray drift from surrounding fields.

We use crop sprays as sparingly as possible, and only when a disease genuinely threatens quality. Where we can, we farm our peas without chemicals altogether, instead, feeding the soil with minerals to help the crop build its own natural resilience.

Machinery

Modern machines, lighter footprints

Our harvest fleet includes 3 Oxbo 540e-EPDs. These harvesters run at low revs with a Tier 5 Scania engine, reducing exhaust emissions and boosting power output to 400hp. All of our machines run on wide tracks to spread their weight and minimise soil compaction.

We keep a close eye on our carbon footprint, factoring it into every machinery and transport decision we make. As cleaner technologies develop, we're committed to adopting them — because the peas on your plate should be as good for the land as they are for you.

Food standards

Certified from field to fork

Every pea we grow meets the Red Tractor Assured Food Standards, an independently assessed scheme that covers everything from crop planning and spray applications to harvesting, storage and responsible waste disposal. It's a rigorous standard, and one we're proud to maintain.

We also meet all relevant environmental protection legislation and we always aim to go beyond what's simply required.
