Whilst we have had some slightly above average temperatures it is the wind that has helped the crop move on rapidly. Will, the sampler, started in ernest this week as The Pod Squad got the final bits and pieces together so we are ready to go!Monday will see a training day and it is likely that we will start either Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Crops generally look well but they are not as lush as normal. This is down to a slightly unusual growing season. They went in the ground, hunted for moisture, received a huge dollop of rain followed by some searing heat. If you applied that to humans you would be feeling a bit groggy yourself! We have been applying nutrients to try and ensure they reach their full potential. Time will only tell. Let the fun begin!
