Friday 30th June 2017

As we all know there are 7 days in a week. This week feels more like a fortnight!! It has been very testing. We came down into the Fens and started in the Savannah which was all going very well until1. A field of Petit Pois came out of order2. Over 50mm of rain fell in 48hrsChallenging, but we just about coped and stayed afloat.! We have gone to take out another field of Petit Pois and will be fully into them on Saturday night, Sunday morning.Looking back at previous years we are normally between 5 and 10% of the way through the harvest at this stage. On 27th June we were over 30% of the way through. Times and seasons are changing and we seem to be dealing with weather events now.The weather has put a toll on the machinery and all three have required attention over the last two days. Hopefully the rain has finished and we can get back to better harvesting conditions.Don't forget that it's Great British Pea Week from 10th July so get on the website and find the thunderclap link and pledge!
